Full title reads: “Dublin. The Drama of a million hopes. Four sightless children draw prizes totalling �409,527. for 78 lucky winners, Irish Hospitals receive �130,000, in great Free State Sweepstake on Manchester November Handicap.“ Dublin, Eire, Southern Ireland, Republic of Ireland. Men carry metal boxes full of entries to the Irish Hospital’s Sweepstake past crowds into building. Nurses help to put the thousands of tickets into a massive drum which will mix them up. Small rolls of paper are but into a glass tombola drum. Two men read statements. Two blind boys with name tags on (Jackie and Paddy) are led onto the stage. Another boy called Peter is seated on a chair on the stage. Another boy called Willie reaches into the large drum to extract a winning ticket.
