Sir Winston Churchill rises to address the conservative delegates at their annual party conference (natural sound): “Stalin was our allay against Hitler... when Hitler had been destroyed, Stalin made himself our principal object of dread. After our joint victory became certain, his conduct divided the world again. But at year and a half ago, Stalin died - that is certain - and ever since that event, I have cherished the hope that there is a new outlook in Russia, a new hope of peaceful coexistence with the Russian nation, and that it is our duty, patiently and daringly, to make sure whether there is such a change or not. Our strength can only be founded on the unity, precautions, and vigilance of the free nations of the world.
