8700 RPM V8 GT86 Build | 6-Speed Sequential 450HP 1UZFE [TECH TOUR]

NA, supercharged, turbocharged and then V8 swapped, this Toyota ‘HPA86’ has seen its fair share of spanners over the last few years. With essentially a ‘stock car spec’ 450HP Toyota 1UZFE V8 under the hood and the core modifications done before our ownership, the HPA GT86 has an ever-growing list of parts and ‘to-do’s’ in order to build it into a class-competitive car, and also the team’s skills along with it. In the previous owners hands the car saw its stock FA20 power plant supercharged, then turbocharged, and finally removed and replaced with a stock 4L 1UZFE V8 engine with an R154 5 speed transmission fitted behind it. 300HP wasn’t quite enough though, and it later received a modified 1UZFE which has the VVTi system removed in favour of a CNC ported head, more aggressive cams and valves to match, stronger H beam connecting rods and a GM LS V8 intake manifold.
