Trump pick for new CIA director Gina Haspel oversaw torture

Gina Haspel has been tipped to take over from Mike Pompeo - and become the first woman to lead the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA). But she could face a tough confirmation hearing in the senate, given past allegations she oversaw the torture of detainees in a secret CIA prison in Thailand. She has been the agency’s deputy director since 2017.
