In 1996 Andrew Weatherall did a mix for the Back To Basics Cut The Crap CD. I’ve listened to this mix for the last 27 years and never gotten tired of it. You can listen to it here: To try and get an idea of how he put it together I bought all the vinyl and tried to recreate the mix myself. It’s not possible to recreate it exactly because he must have had access to the DATs to remix it all in the studio and layer all the samples over it. That said, you can mix the vinyl and if you listen to and compare the two you can see/hear why this is such a great mix. The version of Smokebelch on the original is unreleased so I have used the Beatless Mix here and as an extra I’ve added the track where Smokebelch was originally sampled from.
