Hungary PM says ’ready to’ pay for Russian gas in rubles; has asked Putin for Ukraine ceasefire

Hungary is ready to pay rubles for Russian gas, said the country’s newly re-elected Prime Minister Viktor Orban. The announcement puts the country at odds with other EU nations that have ruled out doing so. Meanwhile, he also stressed on strengthening its alliance with Poland as it is a strategic alliance within the European Union.
