Canada Day Celebration 2021 came with mixed feelings. It was a day to celebrate our sovereignty and at the same time, moments of sober reflection. Our community is hurting by the recent discoveries of hundreds of unmarked graves of innocent residential school students from the original people of this land. O’ Canada, rise up to hear the cry of your children The streets cries as the voices of trembling words sound the alarm from on high Quit, quit, quit say the little lights that is blowing off in the rain The pain, the rane still echoes from the lighthouse The day was far off, yet today has come the light O’ Canada, rise up to hear the cry of your children Let your light heal the wounds So our praise can come on high. 2021.
