B.J. Wilson: drummer extraordinaire for Procol Harum

Mr. Wilson is laid to rest in Corvallis, Oregon. I stopped by on a warm August day. Absolutely by luck, I was moving my vinyl collection back to Seattle, and happened to have all my Procol disks. I picked Broken Barricades to play, because it’s about catastrophic loss, and because B.J.’s drumming is beyond compare. Yes, the album cover is not from that album, but it has such a great gatefold photo of the band, including B.J. I chose to keep the soundtrack just what came out of my little cellphone, mixed with the breeze, the sprinklers, and the barking dog, to offer a sense of place.
