GAME RECAP: Penguins vs. Senators () | Overtime in Ottawa

In their last game before the holiday break, the Penguins travelled to Ottawa to take on the Senators. Chychrun got things started for the home team, but Lars Eller’s sharp-angle shot on the power play tied things up, 1-1, with just over five minutes remaining in the opening period. In the 2nd period, Tkachuk scored just over two minutes in, extending Ottawa’s lead to 3-1. Rickard Rakell then earned his first goal of the season just under three minutes later to cut the Senators’ lead to 3-2. Brannstrom, however, tallied for Ottawa, meaning that the Penguins would trail, 4-2, heading into the final 20 minutes. Shortly after the puck dropped, Drew O’Connor tipped home a shot from Marcus Pettersson to put the Penguins within one. With under three minutes left in regulation, Kris Letang blasted one home for his third tally of the season to send the game to overtime. In the extra frame,
