For more: China has released a white paper titled “China’s Legal Framework and Measures for Counterterrorism.“ The document states that as a victim of terrorism, China has always stressed the importance of law-based counterterrorism efforts and has enhanced its work by following international conventions and treaties while amending and improving criminal laws. What are some of the highlights of the white paper? How has China conducted its counterterror campaign over the past decade? And what has contributed to the success of the anti-terrorism efforts in China’s Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region? Guests in this edition of Dialogue are Da Lu, assistant professor from the School of Human Rights at Southwest University of Political Science and Law; Andy Mok, senior research fellow at the Center for China and Globalization; and Victor Gao Zhikai, chair professor from Soochow University.
