For Love of Liberty: The Story of America’s Black Patriots

Frank Martin’s story details African Americans who fought in all wars to uphold the freedom of the United States (). In many cases these men could not own land, earn a living or raise families. During the civil war some slaves fought because they were promised freedom, only to be enslaved once the conflict ended. After World War I, some returning Black soldiers were lynched... in their uniforms. And during World War II German prisoners of war were served in a southern restaurant while a group of Black soldiers were only allowed to eat sandwiches outside. The documentary may make you angry but it will also educate you.
