Afghanistan: Planes come and go from Kabul airport as evacuation flights continue

Several planes landed and took off from Kabul’s Hamid Karzai International airport on Friday as governments rush to bring home citizens and Afghan colleagues as fast as possible. Many countries have been evacuating diplomatic personnel and translators after the Taliban’s recent seizure of power in the country. Chaotic scenes were reported outside the airport in recent days, with massive queues of people trying to catch a flight and flee the country.
