Most “real“ Finnish musicians simply hate Popeda. But their overdone “äijä“ (guy) music is hugely popular among both sexes in the masses in those ubiquitous karaoke bars. This is a special treat as a friendly joke for my Valkyrie friend who is kinda obsessed with the idea of Norse Shieldmaidens and female warriors. The background of the joke is that in early nineties when we told the collapsed Soviets to fuck off and declared the Paris “peace treaty“ as obsolete, women were allowed as volunteers to any mi
