I remember when my friend Robert showed me this song about 10 years ago when I didn’t listen to Metallica that much. He first played me the bass line and then the song itself. I thought that he was joking at first because there was no bass and we were listening to it on a mono bass amplifier, lol. I hate the fact that this song originally sounds like a tin can, because it’s my favorite bass line of every Metallica song to this day. I really feel that having Jason as their bass player was one of the reasons that Metallica is a household name nowadays, he had some great song ideas and made their style fresh once again.
