The Jazz House Swing - Ray Basa Choreography

As an artist I sometimes feel the pressure to always have to create content that pleases the masses or conforms to a specific formula just to be relevant. When you are categorized in a specific genre you feel it has to be executed a certain way. Regardless of these feelings I know at the end of the day that it’s me who has to love my work and what I do. I wanted to create a piece that just allowed me to have fun and forget about any of those feelings. I can say that I’m very proud of this piece and that it’s 0 me and the way I do things. Since this comes genuinely from my heart I wanted to convey that feeling and positive experience for the viewer watching as oppose to just showing them dance moves. I also chose a cast from different cultures and back rounds to represent the unity and positivity we have through music art and dance.
