About, “I’ve been a fan of Teresa’s voice and writing for a long time. Her legions of fans, including me, are so glad to finally have both on this CD.“... Bonnie Raitt I am very excited and proud to present ’Here In Babylon’, our 10th and latest CD and I have to say that I think it is our best one yet. (I know I say that every time, but who’s to say it isn’t true everytime?) Anyway, we approached this one a little differently than usual: with me on piano, Terry Wilson on bass (along with his brilliant songwriting and production), the amazing Billy Watts on guitar, and the fabulous Jay Bellarose on drums, we cut all the tracks live in 3 days of recording and then added horns and B-3 later on just a few tracks. We had a great time recording at Mystic Mountain - a cool little studio out in the country in Santa Clarita where we had the pleasure of hanging out with a litter of 7 week old blond lab puppies on our breaks - way too cute and a really nice way to relax between tunes. We were extremely lucky to have the fabulous Ed Cherney mix the CD for us - a first for us and a major treat to hear what he brought to the tracks. Also, I want to thank the very talented Darrell Leonard for his trumpet performances and very cool horn arrangements, Joe Sublett for adding his suberb saxophone, and the wonderful Mike Finnegan for his gorgeous B-3 flavorings. And I haven’t even mentioned the songs yet... I feel like we have moved into a bit of a different mood with these tunes - a little more raw, leaning a little more into a soul feel on some of them and definitely a more bluesy attitude overall. We’re proud of this one...
