About the Film
Part classical, part avant-garde, part flamenco - the legendary piano duo Katia and Marielle Labèque are impossible to label. The documentary film “The Labèque Way“ follows these unique artists as they trace their Basque roots, playing Ravel´s Bolero with traditional Basque percussion, premiering a daring new concerto “Nazareno” which they had commissioned, and participating in diverse artistic and personal adventures. Featuring friends and collaborators such as Sir Simon Rattle, Semyon Bychkov and Alessandro Baricco among others, the film includes amazing performances, such as an exciting performance of The Beatles’ “While My Guitar Gently Weeps“.
