yaaaay alexsei finally gets a backstory animation :’0 this is the earliest thing that happens in the timeline as of now wow so to reiterate, alexsei was the heir to the throne of the frosdrake kingdom, and the dragon mask was an heirloom passed down by the nikolaev lineage. upon inheriting it, alexsei wore the mask and the dragon saw him as a fit vessel, possessing him. essentially going mad, alexsei killed other nobles present at the ceremony. the dragon considered itself a king, so it attempted to kill all noblemen and those of nikolaev blood with the goal of taking the land for itself. lacking its full power however, they were able to subdue alexsei and imprison him. there was heated debate over whether alexsei should be executed or exiled. it was ultimately decided (with taros, alexseis fiance, influence on the debate) to exile him. turning his back on the kingdom, taro then defected and went with alexsei. - dont mind my sloppy bgs :’) since im not super fixated
