Putin presents passport as he registers to run in 2024 Russian election

Russian President Vladimir Putin on Monday (December 18) presented documents at the country’s Central Electoral Commission as part of formally registering as a candidate in the 2024 presidential election. He was accompanied by the rector of Moscow Law institute Victor Blazheyev, a representative of an initiative group made up of over 700 politicians and figures from the sporting and cultural worlds who met in Moscow on Saturday (December 16) and unanimously endorsed Putin’s nomination as an independent candidate. Putin, who has been in power as either president or prime minister for more than two decades, has announced he will seek another six-year term in March next year in an election he is comfortably expected to win. #putin #president #Central Electoral Commission Subscribe to The Telegraph with our special offer: just £1 for 3 months.
