The move resulted in several critically acclaimed EPs, putting the New Jersey talent on the maps of house music’s finest thanks to his broad and eclectic sound, holding a maturity well beyond its years as a result of analogue techniques combined with modern house sensibilities. Ever since, Nasser Baker’s approach has steered towards quality over quantity, with his releases proving well worth the wait in the eyes of tastemakers and fans alike. After remixing ’Whisper’ on Defected in 2021, originally released by his mentor Dennis Ferrer alongside Disciples and James Yuill, Nasser Baker returns with ’Notification’, a dark, slow burn of a record that highlights the producer’s tech side; a lively synth bass guides the creative use of voice note-like audio, weaving a story of tension and release as Nasser’s undulating production laces the track with addictive flavour.
