Lies of P Demo - All Boss Fights (No Damage)

Lies of P Demo - All Bosses No Damage Taken / All Lies of P Demo Boss Fights No Damage / Parade Master, Mad Donkey & Scrapped Watchman Boss Fights (No Damage Taken). Just a quick video showing the 3 boss fights available in the Lies of P demo on PC, being done while taking no damage. Review and details below. 00:00 - Parade Master 01:36 - Mad Donkey 03:49 - Scrapped Watchman My thoughts on the game are also below (it’s the same as I detailed on the Scrapped Watchman boss fight). Any reservations I had about the combat in this game, were pretty quickly resolved after fighting the final boss boss for me personally. I think the 3 bosses they chose to begin with and have in the demo were a great choice to showcase the different playstyles required. After the first boss (Parade Master), I was left thinking that dodging was pretty much useless and that it was going to be a completely parry focused game. I felt that it could use some changes, but I wanted to see how it played out. The second boss (Mad Donkey), showed that the game was more than just a parry focus, and baiting out certain attacks would be optimal in some cases. In fact, the timing for parries on that boss was pretty unpredictable at times, and while possible, baiting certain attack patterns would be the safest play. This final boss (Scrapped Watchman), showed that all 3 could be implemented to play with. You can go pure parry focus on this boss, or you can dodge most of the attacks too. On top of that, baiting out certain attacks and using movement to dodge them all will work well, which is what I used here. All of those approaches are common for these sort of games, and I’m glad it’s not limited to the one playstyle fits all for every boss. The only other real issues I had was both finding attacks very hard to anticipate, and backstabs being very unreliable. I think the first is probably a positive, as it’s both by design of the game, and the nature of the puppet enemies moving in ways you otherwise wouldn’t expect. With familiarity and more time on the game, I think it was be a non-issue. The backstabs however, particularly on Mad Donkey, were very unreliable. You’d see the indicator and hit the R1, but still it wouldn’t work most of the time. Ultimately though, it’s a minor issue. After defeating the final boss you also get a preview of the skills and perks you can unlock. One of those is to enhance dodging, so I’d think that would further alleviate any issues on that front. Overall, I’m pleasantly surprised by the demo, and my enjoyment of the game grew the more I played it. I’ll certainly be playing this when it releases in September anyway.
