“Beyond the Visible” is back, bringing you another glimpse behind the scenes of our team during the 2022 season and unveiling the secrets of the most complex sport on the planet – Formula One. The fourth episode of the Alfa Romeo-designed series, “Measuring the unmeasurable”, focuses on aerodynamics, the science behind an incredible amount of development in F1: controlling the flow of air around the car, its friction and motion is the key behind performance. The team’s designers and engineers master this dark art, driving the development of our car and crafting the upgrades that are taken to the track, week in, week out. The new episode will introduce viewers to the concepts of drag and downforce; to the role played by individual aerodynamic components, such as the front wing; and to the work the engineers of the team do to optimise the car’s set up for the best performance.
