A NIGHT AT A GREEK TAVERN

Before our show in Athens, we went with Maxi Nil, our friend from Jaded Star in search of an authentic tavern where we could sample some traditional food and that exquisite new/red Greek wine. We walked for 5 minutes and entered a place with no one inside but the staff. It was perfect for us. We sat down and ordered food and started fiddling with the many guitars and percussions that hung from the walls. One thing lead to the other and, spontaneously, we did “performed“ a few tunes like Os Senhores da Guerra (originally written by Madredeus and recorded by us on 2001 on the Darkness and Hope album) and Alma Mater which performs beautifully on this acoustic mood. We felt really good and the simplicity of this moment felt nice and warm and somewhat meaningful. It hasn’t been an easy year for Moonspell, amidst some personal storms and the never-ending Atlassian task of keeping our band together and functioning with so much competition and commerce floating around and pressuring us to be more “viral“, bigger, better, whatever. Nobody reflects more about the “meaning of our life“ together as Moonspell than ourselves and to be honest we care about nothing else as much as we care about music and its unsounding mysteries and, besides the important fact we are a professional band, we still play by ear most of the times. Anyway, enjoy it for what it is: a bunch of friends having some quality time. Happy holidays, like comment subscribe if you have a moment so you can help us on our way to YT stardom ha! We do intend to grow this channel with more content videos, so stay tuned and above all have a great time wolfpack ladies and gents. Fernando
