Russia: Black Fleet marine unit return to Sevastopol after Syria deployment

Russia’s Black Sea Fleet marines arrived at Belbek airfield in Sevastopol, Monday, after finishing their three-month tour guarding the Hmeymim airbase in Syria. General Vasili Khomyak, the head of Russian Black Fleet marine unit, said the main tasks of his unit were to protect the base, monitor the take-offs and landings of Russian aircraft’s as well as conducting reconnaissance and search operations in the surrounding area.
