MP2002-398 Former President Truman Discusses Negotiating With Stalin at Potsdam

In this Screen Gems outtake, former president Harry S. Truman discusses his efforts to negotiate with Soviet Premier Joseph Stalin and British Prime Minister Winston Churchill at the Potsdam Conference in Germany during World War II. Truman said he was there to enforce agreements Stalin previously made at Yalta, and Stalin broke every one of them, causing the beginning of the Cold War. The only thing that would force Stalin to keep an agreement was how military divisions a country had, and the US had more, though didn’t use them. This item is from the Screen Gems Collection.
