Carnival - The Famous Three Arts Club Ball - London (1929)

Film of a carnival ball at the Three Arts Club in London which is in the great ballroom of the Park Lane Hotel. L/S of the interior of the club - people move around the dance floor. Low angle M/S of the band. “Millions have heard this orchestra on the Radio - Albert Sandler’s -“ C/U of Albert playing the violin. Couples dance past the camera. Various angles of the dancers - some are in fancy dress, others hold balloons. “Another Radio favourite - Marius B. Winter.“ M/S of Marius conducting the band. “Striking costumes attract our camera -“ C/Us of various couples in outrageous outfits. Large head dresses, Mexican sombreros, ostrich feather trimmed outfits, etc. Monty Banks, Sydney Chaplin and Billy Bennett are featured. (Also Morris Harvey?) They are having fun and games with a soda syphon. Sidney pulls off Billy’s fake moustache then puts it back on again. Evelyn Laye, Ruby Miller and Ellaline Macey look after a lucky dip.
