Russia - Elizabeth II Tours Kremlin

(18 Oct 1994) Queen Elizabeth II took a tour of the Kremlin with President Boris Yeltsin on Tuesday (18/10) and laid a wreath at a memorial to Soviet soldiers killed in World War II. The queen and her husband, Prince Philip, walked beside the Kremlin wall through the Alexander Garden before stopping at the eternal flame marking the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. After a minute’s silence, a band played the national anthems of Russia and Britain. Yeltsin was accompanied by his wife, Naina.
