Germany: Police break open ’Rigaer 94’ door as occupants spray them with fire extinguishers

Subscribe to our channel! Police broke into the partially occupied house ’Rigaer 94’, as the planned fire protection expectation is set to take place in Berlin on Thursday. Police can be seen breaking the door to the building using heavy machinery after negotiations with the residents failed. Upon entrance occupants reportedly sprayed the police with fire extinguishers. Rigaer Strasse and the surrounding intersections were cordoned off in the morning. The occupants had announced online that they would let the fire safety inspectors in but not the police, but according to the police fire protection inspectors did not want to enter the building without police protection. Yesterday, the occupants set fire to barricades and threw stones at police. Police said 60 officers were injured. The occupants vowed to resist the inspection test to be carried out at the property on Thursday as they believe it will be used as a pretext to evict them on safety grounds by the building’s owner. #Germany #
