Lake Pontchartrain Causeway southbound

The Lake Pontchartrain Causeway (known by locals as “the Causeway“) is a low-level bridge across Lake Pontchartrain connecting Greater New Orleans with communities on the north shore of the lake. At miles long, it is the world’s longest continuous bridge over water. The twin spans of this bridge opened in 1956 & 1969, respectively.
