5 minutes ago! Canada closes all roads! The snow apocalypse in Alberta has become historic!

Environment Canada has issued a snow warning for the city of Calgary and much of southwestern Alberta. The warning, issued at 3:43 pm on Sunday, said that significant snowfall could be expected from Sunday evening through Tuesday. The results could reach 40 centimeters by Tuesday evening. Snowfall and winter storm warnings have been issued across southern Alberta as more than 40 centimeters of snow is expected to fall in some areas by Tuesday. Canada’s environment and climate change expected “widespread and prolonged snowfall“ to sweep from the Jasper National Park area to the southernmost parts of the province. The agency predicts that between 15 and 25 cm of snow will fall in the city by Tuesday evening. Crews from the City of Calgary have begun clearing major roads, including Crawchild Trail, Glenmore Trail, and Memorial Drive, and taking measures to improve traction before snow. Crews are working on the main routes and will focus on those routes as the snow continues to fall. An extended period of cold Arctic air will soon spread across the prairies, bringing some significant snow and widespread temperatures down to -30 this week.
