Russia’s Far East Sees Broader Transit, Tourism Cooperation with China: Russian Deputy PM

A Russian deputy prime minister in charge of the country’s Far East region adjacent to northeast China says he looks forward to seeing expanded cross-border cooperation in that area. Yury Trutnev, the presidential envoy to the Far Eastern Federal District of Russia recently paid a visit to China, where he and Chinese Vice Premier Zhang Guoqing co-hosted the chairpersons’ meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission for Cooperation of Northeast China and the Far East and Baikal Region of Russia on Dec. 15 in Beijing.
