Dark transcreation and graphic design in the afterlife

Gilbert Again is a continuation of Gilbert Adair (1944–2011), made for the seminar ’No funny voices’ by James Langdon at HfG Karlsruhe. This video oversimplifies and conflates ideas from Gilbert Adair’s ’The Death of the Author’ and contemporary marketing practices, and applies them to a reductive reading of European graphic design history. Kindly hosted in Laptops in Space (), a digital artwork by neesh GbR and bureau314. First presented at the Pillow Lava online lecture marathon (), June 2021. The definition of transcreation is taken from an online presentation by Lionbridge — ‘The World’s Most Trusted Global Communications Platform’, ‘We Speak Your Language.’ Gilbert sculpted by Lisa Büscher, Lifelike Figures, Berlin.
