More than 700 flights canceled at Sea-Tac Airport due to winter storm

Around 700 flights were canceled by 8 p.m. Friday and more than 200 flights have been delayed, according to FlightAware, a flight tracking website. Sea-Tac is running limited operations with one runway open following a full ground stop. There were 11 arrivals and 11 departures from the airport by 1 p.m., airport officials said, during what was anticipated to be one of the biggest travel periods of the year. Alaska Airlines canceled all flights through noon Friday and a spokesperson said it is still unclear if flights will go on this afternoon. An Alaska Airlines spokesperson told KING 5 that many travelers are trying to rebook but because of the already busy holiday travel, that many won’t be able to rebook for days.
