’Wouldn’t It Be Good’ was released in 1984 to critical acclaim, not only for the track itself but for the accompanying video which saw Nik being an alien who steps into other people’s shoes. But in the end realises that it was not such a good idea at all, and decides to return to his home planet. ’Wouldn’t it Be Good’ features on ’Human Racing’ which was released on 27 February 1984, peaking at No. 5 on the UK Album Chart and reaching the top 10 in several other countries. The album spawned four charting singles in the UK and it was the 22nd best-selling album of 1984 in the UK, receiving a nomination for Best British Album at the 1985 Brit Awards. The album has been certified platinum by the British Phonographic Industry (BPI). Fast forward to 2012; ’Human Racing’ was re-mastered and re-released and included bonus remixes and releases.
