Decoding The Third Ear (Maryanne Amacher Ear Tone Render)

In this video, I took 2 pieces by Maryanne Amacher, originally created to produce combination tones in the ears of the listeners, and attempted to render the combination tones into the audio itself and isolate them. One problem with the combination tone works as they are originally rendered is the ability for a listener to withstand them. Proper combination tones require piercingly loud, high-pitched tones to be played near the listener in order for the in-ear distortion to occur. A cursory test on anyone you may convince to give it a try will often end with the person begging you to shut it off ASAP. This “Decoded“ rendering hopes to allow one to show what one MIGHT hear if they wanted to really give it a shot, but are too concerned with hearing loss or comfort. Even I tend to notice that I’m clenching my jaw and worrying about tinnitus when I listen to the original versions. This is NOT MEANT TO BE A SUBSTITUTE FOR THE ORIGINAL. This is mainly a helpful teaching aid for explaining the phenomenon. Head Rh
