Behind The Scenes Style Shoot | Take and Make Great Photography with Gavin Hoey

Snapping a quick BTS photo (short for Behind The Scenes) is always a good idea. Not only will it be handy for future reference but BTS photos can make a popular addition to a blog post or on your social media stream. Photographer Gavin Hoey takes the behind-the-scenes idea a step further by elevating the snapshot to a photo in its own right. As this popular idea shows things that are normally out of sight, so Gavin starts by making sure the room scene is looking its very best, even making a hand-painted background to compliment the vintage and rustic style he has in mind. Next Gavin sets up some simple symmetrical lighting that will work well on both the model, the background, and the whole room. Once the shoot is done Gavin has one more tip, which is… take the time to do some normally framed photos as well. Finally, Gavin takes you into Photoshop and fine-tunes the photo with some cloning, toning, and texture effects. Download the free textures Gavin uses in this video: https:
