Time-Lapse of an Electric Heated Driveway System During a Winter Snow Storm

Watch as a WarmlyYours heated driveway system battles low temperatures and heavy snowfall during a winter storm in the northern Chicago suburbs. This particular system is laid out in “Tire Tracks” format, which basically means that there are two embedded strips of electric heating mats within the asphalt that help keep the driveway passable. The “Tire Tracks“ format is also a great way to cut down on both installation and operating costs without having to sacrifice functionality. For more information about our snow melting systems, visit: As you can see in the video, despite even the heaviest snowfall during the storm (about 3/4” per hour for a total of 8” – 10” from this storm) this snow melting system was able to keep the driveway useable, which ensured safety and peace of mind for the homeowners. And after the main snowfall, the system was able to continue to run, preventing ice formation and eventually evaporating the water left behind from snowmelt. The best part is that the operating cost for this system was only $ per hour! This particular footage was shot on Jan. 27 - 28, 2019. This was during Winter Storm Jayden but before the Polar Vortex 2019 that brought record breaking frigid temperatures to the Midwest.
