A Perfect day was originally recorded by Lou Reed of The velvet Underground, the video reflects the sentiments of the original with it’s haunted feeling of ghosts from the past. The Jamaican integrity within the video ties in with it’s history and roots of Mento music. The slave population in Jamaica created Mento Music as a mix of the European sounds of ballroom dancing that they would see the plantochracy enjoying in their great Houses mixed with their own African rhythms, it created ’Quadrille’ out of that came Mento. The video depicts the Jolly Boys and Albert Minott’s contemporary manifestation.
