Christine and the Queens - Tears can be so soft (Live) | Vevo Studio Performance

Christine and the Queens - Tears can be so soft. An exclusive live performance for Vevo. It’s a pretty neat trick when your music seems avant and accessible at the same time. Christine and the Queens pulled it off rather smoothly on last year’s ‘Redcar les adorables étoiles (prologue).’ More and more, the inventive French artist fills his songs with a swirl of movement. Voices fly wildly, surrounding the main vocal. Beats thicken in a rush of counterpoint. Synths script out a pathway to fetching melodies and dreamy atmospherics. 34-year old singer Chris, who was born Héloïse Adélaïde Letissier, likes his pop on the elaborate side, revealing that his upcoming record, ‘Paranoia, Angels, True Love,’ was inspired by adventurous narratives such as The Who’s ‘Tommy.’ “Music has always been this unexplainable practice that connected me subconsciously to spirituality,” he recently told a journalist. Chris, who sometimes goes by the artist name Redcar and is the heartbeat of Christine and the Queens, is a memorable character. A Frenchman who hit London’s drag scene after a college break-up, he was inspired by the community’s deep bond. When it came time to start taking music-making seriously, he celebrated those queens by citing them in his “band” name. Last year, the singer’s gender fludity landed on the he/him side of the equation. The audience loyalty he’s built with 2018’s ‘Chris’ and 2020’s ‘La vita nuova’ is considerable. A throng of fans awaits the June 9 arrival of ‘Paranoia, Angels, True Love.’ We had Chris in our London studio, where he rolled through “Tears can be so soft.” New album ’PARANOÏA, ANGELS, TRUE LOVE’ out now: Join the mailing list: Buy merch, vinyl and CD: Subscribe to the channel: Website: Instagram: Tiktok: Twitter: Facebook: Spotify: Apple Music: Deezer: Discord: Follow Vevo France Facebook: Twitter: Instagram: Credits Vevo Executive Producer: Nick Calafato Vevo Producer: Yomi Ogunsola Vevo Production Co-Ordinator: Nancy Loud Vevo Music & Talent: Lyva Corvo Vevo Senior Editor: Helena Duque Avalos Vevo Post-Production Coordinator: Scott Robson Vevo Design Lead: Charlee Twigg Vevo Editorial : Léa Saiz Vevo Social Media Manager: Benedict Earl Director: Jim Wilmot Assistant Director: Nancy Loud Director of Photography: Keith Gubbins Steadicam Operator: Austin Philips 1st AC / Focus Puller: Jim McLean 2nd AC / Loader: Esther Edusi Gaffer: Giovanni Mattei Light Operator: Ben Mansfield Stills: Aron Klein Sound Engineer: Matt Facey Runner: Elizabeth Playle Runner: Harry Floyd #ChristineandTheQueens #Tearscanbesosoft #Vevo
