V Walkthrough, ZX Spectrum

A walkthrough of the ZX Spectrum game, V. A 1986 game from Ocean, based on the classic science fiction TV show. A race of evil reptilian aliens, the Visitors, are attempting to take over the world. The humans are fighting back though, and Michael Donovan, a leader of the resistance, is attempting to sabotage the alien mothership by planting bombs in key locations inside it. The ship is organised in five vertical planes, and Donovan must set explosives at key points, one in each plane: the water inlet, the air purification plant, the central computer, the nuclear reactor and the docking hangar. There are various types of robots patrolling the ship, which should be avoided if possible. As well as blowing up the ship, Donovan can collect the parts of the formula for the red dust, which is lethal to the Visitors, and disperse it throughout the ship. Many thanks to “Bandit“ for his help with this game, in particular for helping to find a way to reveal the codes to unlock the doors. Doors are unlocked by clicking the bottom-left icon to generate a six-digit code. Then click one of the six icons in the two right columns to change specific digits in the code. When all six digits are the same, the door opens. These are his basic steps to completing the game, which are followed in the video: Plane 5 Visit the laboratory to obtain part of the formula (02:27). Place a bomb in the docking bay (03:40). Transit OUT (05:12). Plane 4 Visit the laboratory to obtain part of the formula (08:55). Place a bomb in the water inlet (10:46). Transit OUT (11:58). Plane 3 Place a bomb in the computer (13:23).
