Bones Howe ((Dayton Burr Howe) is a for-real name (not a made-up Tops attribution) , and Wikipedia reports that Howe, still with us at 90, is a famous record producer and engineer. I recall some Facebook discussion regarding whether or not he’s the actual singer on this excellent “At the Hop“ fake.
