I am very pleased to present this very interesting and promising debut ep from mysterious new Japanese entity, Vandal. Buzzing heavy metal and rock n roll fired black metal, a scourging roar of vocals tearing ahead of every leathery riff, wild-eyed, insatiable, and ravenous in pursuit of ever twist coming up within this fiendishly composed series of tracks. There’s a recklessness to the pace of this, hiding considered structures, flashes of symphonic grandeur, guitar and synth tones that drone, warp and fray, propulsive percussive breaks and rhythmic details that make it all the more intimidating for the control at the centre of the whirlwind.
