Innovative State Capitalism in Emerging Markets: the Case of Kazakhstan and Beyond

The Norwegian Institute of International Affairs, NUPI, have the pleasure of inviting you to a seminar Innovative State Capitalism in Emerging Markets: the Case of Kazakhstan and Beyond Roman Vakulchuk, Senior Research Fellow, NUPI In this seminar a senior research fellow specializing in emerging markets, Roman Vakulchuk from NUPI, will first present the concept of innovative state capitalism currently evolving in China, Brazil, India and other emerging markets. Secondly, he will present his recently published book that introduces an in-depth case study of innovative state capitalism in Kazakhstan. In particular, in his book he examines the role of the state and market regulation of economic processes and identifies and analyses the ‘core-periphery’ economy in Kazakhstan.
