Nalchik is the capital city of the Kabardino-Balkar Republic, Russia and is located in the foothills of the Caucasus Mountains. The territory of the city has a long history. The modern city, though, was founded in 1818 when General Yermolov, of the Imperial Russian Army established a fort here. In 1838, a Russian military settlement was founded in the city. In 1921, Nalchik was given the status of administrative centre of the Kabardin Autonomous Oblast. During the Great Patriotic War, Nalchik was occupied by Nazi Germany & Romania between October 28, 1942 and January 3, 1943. the city was heavily damaged ……..
