Ships Collision Captured as it Happened

Vessel at by another ship taking away stbd anchor Not having full revert once available #ship #shipping #shipfire #collision At approximately 1209hrs AEST 16 July 2024 the bulk carrier #HLEco whilst manoeuvring to #anchor at the northern anchorage N8 at #HayPoint has reportedly suffered a main engine propulsion system issue. This has resulted in loss of control of the HL Eco which has subsequently struck another vessel, the bulk carrier #YMSerenity, at an adjacent #anchorage N7. This has resulted in the bow and anchor of the YM Serenity striking the port hand side aft (rear) of the HL Eco causing some damage to the aft structure of the HL Eco and the main-deck port side, carrying away the starboard anchor and some anchor chain whilst damaging the forecastle area of the YM Serenity in the process.
