GAME RECAP: Penguins at Avalanche () | Crosby Scores 30th Goal of the Season

The Penguins started their two-game road trip at the Colorado Avalanche on Wednesday night. Captain Sidney Crosby started the scoring a minute into the 2nd period. A neutral zone pass from Jake Guenztel set up Crosby to enter the zone and shoot the puck backhand past the Avalanche goaltender. Minutes later, Guentzel picked up a goal of his own on the powerplay. Evgeni Malkin kept the puck in at the blue line and launched it back on net. The rebound popped up in front of the goaltender and Guentzel was there to bat it out of the air and in the back of the net. Halfway through the 2nd, Colorado responded making the score 2-1 for the Penguins. Jeff Carter, minutes after, was on the backdoor of the powerplay to tap in a quick feed from Bryan Rust.
