Royal Cam Albatross ~ *Tiaki* 2021 Season Tribute & Highlights! 💕 MUSIC!

As the 2020-2021 season comes to an end, we look back over the precious moments of our wonderful albatross family starring LGL, LGK & sweet Tiaki 💕 We had a special season this year with not only watching our Royal Cam family but also watching the next door neighbor family of RLK, GLG & their chick SSTrig! We say our farewells to beautiful Tiaki, who left to fulfill her destiny on September 25th 2021 at 244 days old. She captured all our hearts and brought us great joy and happiness, especially during the lock downs for the covid virus. Tiaki received her official Maori name which means to protect, preserve & care. Tiaki, like all the chicks on Taiaroa Head, hatch in an incubator to prevent deadly flystike from occurring. The rangers bring the newly hatched chick to the sitting parent on the nest - LGK and they instantly bond. 💕 In the beginning the rangers come by twice a day to weigh and check on her and gradually reduce it to one weigh in a week.
