On the Sunny Side of the Street - “Soundie“ by Halie Loren

A self-directed, home-spun video of “On the Sunny Side of the Street“ off of Halie Loren’s Simply Love album. Created In celebration of International Jazz Day (April 30th), this is inspired by the musical films called “soundies“ that were popular in the 1940’s, created for and played on the Panoram (a film jukebox machine). Many jazz artists of that era filmed soundies, including Nat King Cole, Count Basie, and Duke Ellington... even then-little known artists like Doris Day were featured in soundies prior to becoming household names. They are considered as the precursor to modern day music videos. Learn more here:
