Vampire Weekend break down This Life, Harmony Hall, and more | Soundcheck Session | Radio X

Vampire Weekend’s Father Of The Bride has been the surprise hit of the summer. It’s an album fully of joyful riffs, emotive lyrics, and a whole bunch of reptiles. And whilst the album harks back to those indie rock days in Colombia, it has a brave new sound which embraces dozens of new sonic landscapes. Gordon Smart sat down with band frontman Ezra Koenig to talk through the inspirations and influences behind new music, and tell the tales behind from classic tracks. Combined with a live performance taken from the band’s soundcheck at London’s Islington Assembly Hall, Koenig breaks down This Life, Harmony Hall, Sunflower, and, of course, A Punk.
