In this case Amatssou (2023). It was recorded in the winter of 2022 in the Sahara desert where the borders of Lybia and Algeria meet. Tinariwen’s musical alchemy is unique to the rare reunion of its members which live in different villages and countries around the Sahara. This delicate chemistry between the musicians is important to the creation of Tinariwen’s particular sound and sensible to its environment, the life in the desert and its communities.
